Meat consumption

Definition:

Meat consumption is people eating animals. The human intake of meat increases as wealth increases. If people want to eat meat, the production of maize and soy needs to increase. These plants are mostly cattle feed. If people should feed themselves on a plant based diet, one third of the amount of land would be needed to feed us all. High meat consumption is one of the main causes of deforestation.

Rebearth solution

Since Rebearth increases yield dramatically in maize and soy, we do not need to chop away large areas of rain forest. There is no need to damage these forests for cattle feed any more, the amount of arable land is more than sufficient for the global needs.

Rebearth shows maize yield increases of 100% in African small holder farms.
